Cindy's Birthday Bash

Pretty in Pink.
We are having a birthday party for our friend, Cindy. She loves pink, so I am guessing everything will be in pink. My birthday card will be no different. I had wicked fun making it.
I used Martha Stewart's lattice punch to make the fence. I added SU's flourish stamp for ivy. I just bought the Mixed Bunch stamp set and punch from Stampin Up. Love them. It makes beautiful blossoms when you stack them and raise them with dimensionals.
The leaves are die cuts from Spellbinders. The little bee is from SU Full Blossoms set. I love Martha Stewart's butterfly punch, too. I made the flower in the lower right hand corner from punches and yes.. pink paper.
The sentiment I typed on the computer to get the right size and used a Spellbinder's die cut mount the words. I think it came out pretty good. Hope Cindy likes it , too.

Pretty in Pink, too.
Wish I could eat one....
Great display
We went indoor flea marketing a few weeks ago ad came across a great candy store in Wells. I think that is where we were. It was called "The Harbor Candy Store". Great place. Loved their displays. This pink mask reminded me of Cindy. I snapped a picture of their masks.
More pretty in pink...
We plan on going back to Wells real soon as their stores on the Main Street are so cute and full of things that interest us.

Embrace Life

I took a short "detour" from my scrapbooking commitment to work on my first love: cardmaking. I just had to use the new stamp set I got from my trip to the New Hampshire Creative Memories Convention. I thought this set was a hoot. And it seemed to represent my family of sisters when we go off on a road trip to do something for the "sheer fun of it"!!!
Whoopeeeeee!!!!
The set is called "Girlfriends" by Art Impressions. There is a front and a back. I put the back inside the card with the sentiment.
I used silicone gel to raise certain elements of the stamp. I had wicked fun coloring with my Copic Markers. I used Martha Stewart's border punch to give the card a little more fun to it. The stamps I used were Stampin Up's Embrace Life and the tree is from SU's Lovely as a Tree set.
This is a Mark Twain quote... I liked it.
I had to off set the car because it seemed to express the excitement "The Girls" are having on their shopping trip.
The flowers complete the "girlieness" of this card.

The second stamp to this set is the back of the first stamp. I loved how using it on the inside shows the girls moving on.. I had to check back to the front of the stamp I had colored to make sure it matched. A little tricky at times.
Anyway, it was fun to make and helped me with my cardmaking fix. I can now go back and continue working on my scrapbooking goal. Ohhh, I bet I'll be sidetracked again, though.

Shopping at the Mall

I love walking around the Maine Mall and looking for ideas that inspire my paper crafting/cardmaking or helps in my desire to make my home more homey.... Pottery Barn is one of my favorite stops; even though I can not afford to buy much there. The combination of colors they use in putting bits and pieces together are quite striking. Take this beautiful yellow centerpiece. This inspired me to make a "Thinking of You " card for my brother in law's mother who fell recently and is in rehabilitation. I thought she could use a little "pick me up" card. So yellow is "just the ticket" for thinking spring-like in this all white wonderland.
Another great idea!

Love this decorating vinette
I will be posting that card later today after I put a few finishing touches on it.
I couldn't help taking pictures of the neat carousel that is in the middle of the Mall. It's fun to watch the kids having fun on this ride. Although some preteens looked like they might be sick after twirling in the teacup so much.
Anyway, I am ending this post with a picture of a chandelier that is in Brighton's store. It reminded me of Stampin Up's chandelier stamp. So pretty.
The weather has improved but the melting snow from yesterday is now solid ice today. It should be melting again today. I see shoveling the slush in my future.  Oh well.. we will be Florida bound soon.

Been Way Too Long!
